Sigmoid colon, Rectum and Anus

Must knows on the anatomy of sigmoid colon, rectum and anal canal. Sigmoid Colon lies between the descending colon and the rectum. External Iliac artery divides the Sigmoid colon into Iliac and pelvic division. Rectosigmoid Junction spreading out of 3 longitudinal taenia coli. Rectum passes downwards following the curve of the sacrum and the coccyx. Anal columns or Columns of Morgagni divides the anal canal into inferior part which is covered with squamous epithelium and superior part which is covered with columnar epithelium.
