Defining the concept is the translation of the concept into a concrete concept. What are the rules for defining?
In a scientific definition its definiens must not include the same.
Definitions should contain clear terms, either because they can be presumed to be clear to anyone or because they are defined elsewhere, as is the case with a nested definition.
It is wise not to include terms in the definition which in turn depend on the term, this can lead to circular reasoning.
It is not advisable to define using a list, because it could be incomplete, and it could become a series of examples instead of a definition.
The definition should be as concise as possible. The longer the definition, the less comprehensible.

What are the three ways to check to what extent a measuring instrument is valid?
Content validity
Construct validity
Criterion validity

What is content validity?
The question whether the final measuring instrument properly reflects the concept to be measured. The operationalization from concept to measuring instrument must be as accurate as possible.

What is a characteristic of content validity?
It is the only type of validity that can be established prior to data collection?
input text value
How can you establish content validiy?
Make use of the knowledge that we already have regarding the concept
Ask colleagues to review the content validity or test the measuring instrument on a number of potential research subjects

What is construct validity?
How a certain concept relates to other concepts that occur in a theory. If there should be a positive correlation between two concepts and the measurements results confirm this, then you can be more confident of using the right measuring instrument.
